Nutritional qualities and health benefits

  • They are a good source of potassium.

Origin and cultivation


They are native to eastern Turkey. In Europe there have been selected varieties for thousands of years. The first data of this fruit crop dating from 300 BC. By that time six apple varieties are mentioned, today there are more than 5,000, although commercially working just 6 varieties.

Common names

The scientific name of the plant is Malus. In Spanish it is called Manzana.
